Construction vehicles operate in environments with high vibration, dust, moisture, and direct sunlight. Operators need clear displays for equipment status, safety monitoring, and task management. Standard displays are not suitable for continuous use on excavators, loaders, cranes, and other construction machinery.
The VD120 (12.1-inch, IP67) is the preferred choice for larger machines requiring dual CAN and higher protection. The VD100 (10.1-inch, IP65) is a strong alternative for most construction equipment. Both support navigation, equipment monitoring, diagnostics, and multi-camera display under vibration, dust, and outdoor conditions.
| Model | Size | Protection | Suitability for Construction | Key Features |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| VD120 | 12.1-inch | IP67 | Best fit for larger machines | Dual CAN, Android 14, 6 TOPS NPU, 750 nits |
| VD100 | 10.1-inch | IP65 | Strong alternative | CAN, GNSS, 4x AHD camera inputs, Android 10 |
| VD70 | 7-inch | IP65 | Suitable for compact equipment | Smaller form factor, GNSS, Android 10 |
An excavation contractor needed a reliable terminal on their excavator for machine control and GPS tracking.
They installed a 10.1-inch Android vehicle terminal with wide temperature range and IP65 front.
The terminal allowed operators to control functions, view GPS position, and receive machine data directly in the cab. It reduced downtime caused by equipment failures.
A construction company used 12.1-inch Android vehicle terminals on wheel loaders for real-time load tracking and operator guidance.
The high-brightness screen and glove-friendly touch worked well even with gloves on. The terminal connected to the loader’s control system and sent data back to the company server for progress tracking.
A large civil engineering firm wanted a rugged terminal for bulldozers that could display dig depth, fuel level, and machine status.
A 10.1-inch Windows vehicle terminal was selected because their existing software ran on Windows.
The sealed design withstood the harsh site conditions, and the wide voltage support allowed stable operation from the vehicle battery.
For logistics vehicles, RUGSTORM recommends the VD100 and VD70 vehicle terminals.
For agricultural machinery and tractors, RUGSTORM recommends the VD120 12.1-inch vehicle terminal.
